The different steps of sourcing
In-Depth Analysis of the Request
- 1. Transmission of the specifications to WM-Sourcing, which will:

- Select potential suppliers based on the following criteria: product and capacity analysis, reputation assessment, financial risk coverage, etc.
- Evaluate the commercial viability of the project (competitiveness of the offer and alignment with the client’s specifications).

Requesting and Analyzing Samples

Upon the client’s request, we order a sample of the product from the factory.
Our teams perform a physical inspection, along with photo and video documentation (as requested), and the findings are communicated to the client.
Sending Samples and Terms

The samples, along with shipping costs, are invoiced to the client. If the client places a firm order, these fees are then waived.

Order confirmation

After the client agrees on the product and purchasing terms, the order is placed with the factory upon receipt of the deposit, which is directly transferred to the supplier following standard business practices in China.
Production Monitoring

We maintain constant communication with the factory prior to product shipment.
Upon the client’s request, we can conduct a double inspection: at the factory and before loading.

1/ Who are our services for?
To businesses, merchants, and other entities looking to purchase goods in China.
For e-commerce businesses/merchants aiming to develop their own brand (Private Label). We assist you in customizing your products, including design, packaging, branding, and associated marketing (business cards, professional photos, translations, etc).
Logistics Services: We handle all types of shipments and can also assist with this phase independently of sourcing.
Our specialization primarily lies in B2B procurement.
We do not provide dropshipping services: We do not purchase items individually from the factory for direct shipment to the end customer.
2/ I already have my supplier, but I would like to be assisted with other services that you offer.
We can get involved in other stages of purchasing products in China, apart from sourcing, such as:

3/ Do you assist companies with dropshipping ?
No, we do not provide such services. We specialize in B2B, which means we focus on volume purchasing optimization.
4/ What is your compensation?
In our quotes, we include our costs for the services provided.
5/ What type of products do you sell ?
We are not manufacturers. We assist companies in finding factories with an excellent price-quality ratio and varied experience in the sector.
We are not limited to any specific industry. Ideally, you should contact us and specify the type of product you are looking for.
6/ Do you accept payment by letter of credit (LC) ?
We do not accept this type of payment, which, in addition, is very restrictive in terms of cost and time.
Sourcing
1/ Payment terms
- For samples and shipments :
We invoice the customer for the purchase and shipping of samples. However, if the customer ends up placing an order, the sample fees will be refunded.
- For product orders, we proceed with two invoices:
- An advance invoice: 30% of the merchandise price for the production initiation.
- An invoice for the remaining 70% of the merchandise price once the product is available from the factory.
- A third invoice is issued for the transportation of the merchandise if the customer wishes to entrust us with this step.
2/ Sample management
When transmitting the quotation to the client, if they wish to proceed with their purchasing process, we request a sample from the factory.
This sample will initially be received at our offices and analyzed by our teams to provide an initial assessment to the client. Subsequently, the sample will be sent to the client if they wish to approve the product.
Note: We charge the client for the purchase and shipping of samples. However, if the client places an order for the product, the sample fees will be refunded.
3/ Can I put my brand on the product and packaging ?
Yes, we assist companies in customizing their products and packaging with their own identities and brands. We can also incorporate thank you cards with the client’s logo.
However, it is important to specify this element in advance. Depending on the quantities ordered, factories may request either an additional cost or a minimum order quantity (MOQ) to make modifications to the product.
Transport / Logistics
1/ Calculation to determine volumetric weight
Volumetric weight, also known as cubic weight, is a measure used in the transportation of goods to determine the space occupied by a package based on its dimensions, and thus calculate shipping charges when billed by volumetric weight rather than actual weight.
How to roughly determine the volumetric weight:
Volumetric weight (kg) = (Length x Width x Height) / 5000 (for air transport, Fedex)
Volumetric weight (kg) = (Length x Width x Height) / 6000 (for air transport, air cargo)
Volumetric weight (kg) = (Length x Width x Height) / 6000 (for sea transport)
In summary, volumetric weight is determined by calculating the volume of the package based on its dimensions and dividing it by the carrier’s specific volumetric divisor.
2/ Calculation of product quantity for a container
To determine the quantity of products for a container, measure the dimensions of the container and the products.
Calculate the total space available in the container (length x width x interior height).
Then, calculate the space occupied by one product (product dimensions).
Divide the total available space by the space occupied by one product to obtain the quantity of products that can be placed in the container.
Note that adjustments for stacking and load optimization may be necessary.
3/ Container Type and Volume
Container Type and Capacity :
- 20“ : Volume that can be loaded, approximately 28/29 m³
- 40“ HQ : Volume that can be loaded, approximately 68 m³
4/ Shipping methods and lead times
Minimum 100kg volumetric weight for sea transport.
Minimum 21kg volumetric weight for air transport.
